3GN Nationals, presented by NRA Sports, brings shooting challenges, camaraderie, shoot-offs fun and sponsor engagement to 3GN Members
In less than 10 days the 3GN Nationals, presented by NRA Sports, will take place at the Clinton House Plantation. One of South Carolina’s premiere facilities for 3-Gun, the Clinton House is a fan favorite among competitive shooters. Within its landscape, it provides match directors a lot of freedom to create unique and challenging stages of fire.
Now in its 4thyear, the 3GN Nationals continues its mission to be a premiere shooting event with talented 3-Gunners from all over the US. Additionally, 3GN continues to create opportunities to showcase product manufacturers both directly to the competitor as well as the mass market of 3GN readers and fans.
In no particular order, we wanted to put out this article to showcase all of the companies who stepped in to support the event.
First lets start with Devil Dog Arms. Devil Dog now features veteran 3-Gun shooter, past 3GN Champion and fixture in the firearm industry Tommy Thacker. Devil Dog is making resurgence as a top-shelf AR builder and Thacker believes in 3-Gun. A great combo for the shooting community.
And when it comes to a rifle, any 3-Gun shooter will tell you that a quality muzzle brake is key when tuning your rifle to perform. A flat shooting rifle with quick target-to-target transitions is key, especially when doing work at close distance, and American Precision Arms has delivered “The Answer.” “The Answer” is a new release from APA, and they will be showcasing it at the Nationals and have generously supported the event with a whole bunch of their brakes for the prize table.
Walther Arms has also stepped in as a Gold Sponsor this year. Walther is one of the icons within the firearms industry and their PPQ line-up of pistols is a fine choice for any gun owner, competition or self-defense. What makes Walther especially generous is not just supporting the event, but all events. The Walther Contingency program allows shooters from across all different disciplines to win extra prize money for placing with one of their guns.
Blackwater Precision, an Ohio-based ammunition company, is becoming a big player in match-grade ammo. The big news here is they are supporting Nationals not only in sponsorship, but also in logistics. BWP announced recently that any Nationals competitor can order the ammo they need from the BWP website and have it waiting for them at the match. Now that’s curbside service!
Luth-AR is providing a Chubby grip for every competitor registered for the prize table portion of the event, as well as kicking in additional great prizes, including the company’s popular stocks and the new Palmguard fore-end. Led by Randy Luth, one of the most respected names in the industry, we are proud to have the continued support of one of the best in the business.
And speaking of giving back, Grizzly Targets, a steel target manufacturer based in Tampa, Florida, stepped up big not just for the shooters within the event, but also for their range back home. The 3GN Championship Shoot-off’s will feature classified 3GN members ranking from Amateur to Pro, and Grizzly will be offering prizes for the division winners to take back home such as a brand new plate-rack, dueling tree and other range goodies.
But all sponsorships, big or small, are important. Each and everyone of these companies took time and effort to allocate what they could to help the match. But they don’t just help 3GN events. Many can be found in match announcements all over the shooting sports.
“We really wanted to create a platform for the shooters, but also for the sponsors,” said Pete Brown, 3GN President. “We are always trying to push 3-gun out to folks who don’t have direct access, and with that we promote companies whose products apply to both the sport as well as general interest gun owners. Social Media, web updates, video, livestream and e-news are all tools we use to tell folks what’s going on with the organization and the companies that support the sport.”
