3GN Training, Presented by NRA Sports, will host four classes at 3GN Clubs across the country over the next month, brining 3-Gun 101 and Long Range Rifle instruction to 3GN Members and Fans!
Over the next month, four 3GN Training classes will be conducted at 3GN Clubs across the country, delivering incredible opportunities for members and fans to take their first steps into 3-Gun and Long-Range Rifle competition. 3GN Training is presented by NRA Sports.
3GN Training will offer three different 3-Gun 101: Basic Training Courses in the coming weeks, ranging from Pennsylvania, to South Carolina and Georgia. If Long Range is your game, 3GN Training is also conducting a special 3GN Long Range Rifle course, taught by a veteran precision shooter and former Army SOF sniper!
3-Gun 101: Basic Training
Prepare for a one-of-a-kind introduction into the fun and excitement of 3-Gun!
This one-day course offers a thorough rundown of what you need to know before competing in your first 3-Gun event. Taught by veteran competitors, this class covers the sport from A-to-Z, including the guns, gear, rules, and what to expect at your first match.
Topics covered include:
– Range Safety and basic 3-gun range commands
– Basic 3GN rules overview
– Gear and equipment overview for each division
– How to safely maneuver through a basic course of fire under time
– Basic shotgun overview and loading techniques
– Basic pistol overview
– Basic rifle overview
– 3GN Club Series and classification brief overview
Student requirements:
– Fundamental understanding of firearm safety
– Basic understanding of pistol, rifle and shotgun platforms
Equipment requirements:
Don’t have all the gear you need? Ask us about demo equipment!
– AR-15 style rifle
– Semi-automatic pistol
– 12-gauge autoloading or pump-action shotgun
– Belt, holster, shotgun shell caddies, mag pouch
– 100 rounds of shotgun (birdshot), pistol and rifle; 10 shotgun slugs
– Eye and ear protection
Each 3-Gun Nation certified instructor has a proven track record of success in competitive shooting and 3-Gun competition, and has been selected by us to help new shooters like yourself to join the fun and excitement of 3-Gun events! Each 3-Gun 101 Course costs $250, which includes a one-year membership into 3-Gun Nation!

3GN Long Range Rifle Course

3GN Long Range, even for veteran 3-Gunners, can be an entirely different animal. That’s why 3GN Training is working with veteran 3-Gun and precision shooter Todd VanLangen to package a one-day course that will enable novice long-range competitors to have success during that first event.
Topics covered include:
– Range Safety and basic Long- Range commands
– Basic 3GN LR rules overview
– Gear and equipment overview for each division
– How to safely maneuver through a basic COF under time
– Intro to Ballistics
– Intro to Gear and Gun selection
– Long Range wind and atmospheric calculations
– Basic Positional Shooting
Student requirements:
– Fundamental understanding of firearm safety
– High Level of Motivation and willingness to learn
Equipment requirements:

– Long Range Capable rifle (AR Style OR Bolt Gun) with Optic (Zeroed @ 100 YDS) with Bipods
– 200-300 rounds of Ammunition (.223-.300WM)
– 2-3 Spare Magazines
– Shooting Bags, pillows, mats, etc
– Strelok Pro (Preferred) or another Ballistic App downloaded to phone or IPDA/Tablet
– Eye and ear protection

Instructor
Chief Warrant Officer 2 (Retired) Todd VanLangen spent 20 years as a Special Forces Sniper/Assaulter in an Elite Hostage Rescue Unit within the Special Forces Regiment. He also Spent 2 years as the 3rd Special Forces Group(A) Sniper School Commander. Todd is a veteran of the Shooting sports (3GN, Long-Range, IDPA,USPSA and Sporting Clays) and currently works as a Pro Shooter for Beretta USA.
