Pro Awards Regional Prize to Randomly Drawn Junior Competitor
At the conclusion of the 3GN East Regional, all in all, it had been a pretty solid weekend for Team Armalite’s Greg Jordan. A win in Pro Series Event 7 had advanced one of the favorites back into the 3GN Championship. A $1,000 check marked the win; meanwhile, a second place finish in the Practical division (4th overall) set the pro up to walk the prize table for yet another lucrative prize.
But Jordan had another idea.
Though sponsored shooters use prize tables to ultimately offset the costs of their training and travel, which can make a real difference in their finances, Jordan decided to make a difference in a different way.
Jordan, via teammate Hunter Cayll, came to 3GN and asked for help pulling a random junior’s name from the list of competitors. Fourteen-year-old Brady Lawing was the lucky winner, flashing a huge smile as Cayll presented the certificate, which will be redeemed for an M15 3GN13 rifle.
“This is what shooting sports is all about,” said Jeremy Gresham, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Armalite. “I watched Brady all weekend, as he was on the same squad as Tom (Lackley). This kid can shoot and needs to eat all the cheeseburgers, too. So glad to see him get the rifle and look forward to seeing him grow into an even better shooter over the years. That is a smile of pure joy!”
