Taking 3-Gun By Storm
DoubleStar Corporation Sponsors University of Kentucky 3-Gun Team
WINCHESTER, KY – DoubleStar Corp has joined forces with the University of Kentucky Shotgun and Pistol teams to help start spreading the word about 3-gun competition on a collegiate level. By donating two of its 3GR Competition ARs, along with a monetary donation, DoubleStar is proud to be part of this move.
UK 3-Gun President Zeke Walters, along with Captains Daniel Birkenhauer and Braxton Montgomery, visited DSC’s plant November 16 to pick up the rifles and tour the plant. The University of Kentucky is one of the first colleges to have a 3-Gun Competition team. With verbal interest from many other schools, you can definitely expect this to start a fire under collegiate shooting sports. Look for UK shooters at 3-Gun events all over the country next season as they join DoubleStar to help support the shooting sports and to wear out the competition.
“Supporting collegiate 3-gun completion is a great way to educate the world about the sporting purposes of the AR-15,” DoubleStar General Manager Nick Collier commented. “We are very excited about being a part of something that allows us to support our local university while spreading about 3-gun and other competitive shooting sports. Go Big Blue 3-Gun Nation!”
“I’m proud to be a part of something where young men and women participate in a sport that teaches accuracy and respect for firearms,” DoubleStar President Teresa Starnes commented.
In 2013, you can expect to see coverage of great events and footage of the students on DoubleStar’s website (www.star15.com), along with support from the television series “3-Gun Nation,” on NBC Sports Network and on DoubleStar’s Facebook page.
