MGM Ironman Underway
More than 180 competitors kicked off the 2010 MGM Ironman Thursday, the fourth of five qualifying events on the FNH USA 3-Gun Nation Tour, Presented by SureFire.
Competitors such as Dave Neth, Mike Voigt and Matt Burkett all posted good runs on Thursday, but there is a lot of shooting remaining before the top eight gets a crack at the shoot-off stage and their shot at $5,000, courtesy of Warne Scope Mounts.
Of note, Patrick Kelley, the points leader out of the Heavy Metal division, competing in Tactical Optics during Ironman, had the fastest time of the day on stage seven; however he incurred a 300-second penalty for a stage infraction. As day one was wrapping up, Kelley had raised an informal challenge to the ruling, and range officers and staff are discussing the situation. That ruling could potentially impact the final eight, and we'll post more news as soon as new information is available.
